No prior tech experience is required to enjoy our programs! We understand youth come from different backgrounds and different ideas for what they want out of a career. Our goal is to provide as many opportunites as possible for you to explore careers, learn code, and become tech advocates in whichever career you ultimately land in. Maven Youth is primarily invested in strengthening your leadership and building a strong awareness of modern technology.

We do offer a variety of age ranges for our programs, but the majority are designed to accomodate those between 14 - 19 years of age. As our organization has grown alongside our youth, we have expanded our programs to continue the development of our youth leaders. Many of our leadership opportunies and mentorships are now available for the 19 - 24 age group.

You do not! However, our programs are designed specifically with LGBT+ Youth in mind. We are passionate about creating safe spaces for LGBT+ youth to bring their full authentic selves. In order to accomplish this, we ask any non-LGBT+ members to have strong social awareness of the LGBT+ community before applying. Any youth who creates an unsafe environment for our youth members will be not be able to further enroll in any of our programs.

Tech professionals play a huge role in our programs. We rely on tech professionals to be the face of the tech industry, as well as our partners in providing mentorshop to youth exploring careers in tech. Our Campfire Chats, Tech Career Panels, and other volunteer workshops are all great opportunities for adults to be part of the fun - not to mention incredible ways to give back to our LGBT+ Youth community!
